I've just seen LAST KNIGHT, the very last episode of Forever Knight. *sniff*
This was so sad, but it had to end like this. Nick's life was completely falling apart in a single night. The problems that have been piled up during the years needed a trigger to come to the surface and they did. He had to make his decision. It's sad, that there couldn't be a future for him and Nat, but he was never able to control his desire when unleashed, was he? And he would have never been able to endure the loss of the love of his life. A very wise decision to beg Lacroix to release him from his existence in this endless darkness.
But what about Lacroix in the end? Nick was his child for eighthundred years and in his own ways he loved him. Well, we will never find out about the doings of Lacroix after he obeyed his child's wish. Why did he obey anyway? Was it because he couldn't see his child suffer more than he already did? Or because he knew that Nick would never overcome the loss of Natalie and therefore stopped the self-torture of his beloved son? We will never know...
